Embedded Planet was employed by a governement contractor specializing in network security to develop a commercial grade switch/router capable of speeds up to 1 Tbps. The system was built to AdvancedTCA PICMG 3.1 Option 9 specifications featuring fully manged Layer 2 - 4 10G Fabric and Layer 2 1G/SGMII Base Channel. The unit supports 15 10G XUAI fabric channels, 15 1G/SGMII Base Channels, a 4 10G SPF+ Front Panel, 4 10G XUAI Zone 3 and 4 1G/SGMII Zone 3 ports. All ports are 100% Wire-Speed. The 19" wide 5 U chassis has dual redundant AC or DC power supplies and dual redundant fan trays.
