PlanetCore Firmware

PlanetCore is a suite of utilities designed to support all of Embedded Planet's single board computer products. Every single board computer comes loaded with PlanetCore to minimize the time needed to have a functional software development platform.

In addition to the pre-loaded binary, PlanetCore source code is available for purchase. This option allows development of custom drivers and production test routines.

PlanetCore Firmware Suite

Feature Summary

  • Bootloader: Can boot user applications from Flash or over the network using TFTP for simple and automatic application upgrades.
  • Flash Burner: Erases and programs flash in a single step and can program multiple sections of flash in a single image download.
  • Diagnostics: RAM, Flash, and I/O tests are fully supported. These tests are used during our own production testing and can be used to help automate customer production testing as well.
  • Footprint: Small memory footprint (<256kB).
  • Configuration: Configured via EEPROM settings to allow for custom behavior.
